Char Dham Yatra

Char Dham Yatra refers to a pilgrimage tour in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It involves visiting four sacred Hindu temples, collectively known as Char Dham. The four temples included in the Char Dham Yatra are:

1. Yamunotri: It is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and is located in the western region of Garhwal Himalayas. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,293 meters above sea level.

2. Gangotri: It is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,042 meters above sea level.

3. Kedarnath: It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters above sea level.

4. Badrinath: It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters above sea level.

The Char Dham Yatra is considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism. It is believed that by undertaking this yatra, one can attain spiritual purification and blessings from the deities. The pilgrimage usually starts from Yamunotri, then proceeds to Gangotri, Kedarnath, and finally concludes at Badrinath. The yatra is usually undertaken during the summer months, from April to November, when the weather is favorable for travel.
