Kedarnath, located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India, at an altitude of 3,583 meters, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a vital part of the Char Dham Yatra. Revered as one of the most sacred Hindu shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is believed to have been originally constructed by the Pandavas and later rebuilt by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. Accessible by a challenging 16-kilometer trek from Gaurikund, Kedarnath offers pilgrims a profound spiritual experience amidst the breathtaking Himalayan landscape. Despite severe damage from the 2013 floods, extensive reconstruction efforts have restored its infrastructure, ensuring safer and more accessible pilgrimage conditions.

Believed to be over 1,000 years old, the temple's origins are linked to the legend of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata, who sought Lord Shiva's blessings. Accessible via a moderate 4-kilometer trek from Chopta, Tungnath offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including peaks like Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. DAY 00:
HARIDWAR TO GUPTKASHI
You’ll be picked up from the pickup point in Haridwar and transferred to Guptkashi.
DAY 01:
ARRIVAL GUPTKASHI | HOTEL CHECK IN
After arriving In Guptkashi, check in to our Hotel, freshen up, and have some Leisure. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
DAY 02:
TREK TO KEDARNATH
Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise and post breakfast check out from our hotel.
Drive to Sonprayag and take a local jeep from there to Gaurikund. Begin your trek to Kedarnath Dham – one of the Char Dhams of Uttrakhand.
Reach Kedarnath by evening and after reaching Kedarnath check in to camp/ Hotels freshen up, and take a rest. Overnight stay in Hotel / Ashram or Camps.
DAY 03:
TREK DOWN FROM KEDARNATH | DRIVE TO CHOPTA
Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise and get ready for Darshan. After Darshan, assemble and have breakfast (at your own cost) After that, start your trek down to Gaurikund. On reaching Gaurikund, Take a local jeep to Sonprayang and then transfer to Chopta overnight stay & Dinner in a campsite in Chopta.
DAY 04:
TREK TO TUNGNATH | DEPARTURE
Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise and get ready star trek to Tungnath Temple, the highest temple of Lord Shiva. The trek is about 3.5 km from Chopta. Furthermore, if possible, trek 1.5 km more to reach Chandrashila Peak or summit. You will witness the 360-degree panoramic view of Snow covering the Himalayas. Later trek down and get ready to depart back to Delhi.
